It was about this time last year when Manchester United's Youth team went all the way an captured the FA Youth Cup after beating Sheffield United in a two legged semi-final. Three players from that team were destined for greatness - Paul Pogba, Ravel Morrison and Ryan Tunnicliffe. Even fans that didn't watch or follow youth team football knew who they were, and Manchester United fans as a whole were licking their lips in anticipation with what the future held in store for these three young men.
Manchester United currently possesses some of the best young footballers in the country, maybe even in Europe. As the first team are breaking records and adding to an already burgeoning trophy cabinet, the reserve and youth team players are not being left out. Success breeds success, and Manchester United are a great example of this. Yesterday the Youth Team managed by Paul McGuiness won the FA Youth Cup for a record 10th time to continue the tradition of Manchester United producing great young footballers. |
